Blog Update!
For those of you not following me on Facebook, as of the Summer of 2019 I've moved to Central WA, to a tiny mountain town of less than 1,000 people.

I will be covering my exploits here in the Cascades, as I try to further reduce my impact on the environment. With the same attitude, just at a higher altitude!

Omnivore's Dilemma blog book club update

Omnivore's DilemmaOkay peeps. My copy of the book is on it's way. For those participating in the book club, I'll be posting the initial set of discussion questions on the first Tuesday of May. So, if you haven't bought your copy, get crackin'!

Oh yeah, and have fun!

Hopefully, mine is en route as well. I am looking forward to it.

Yikes. I'm kind of scared to read it. I won't want to eat ANYTHING. And I just got over my fear of fast food from Fast Food Nation. Mmmmm...McDonald's cheeseburger...(drools)...

I am SO not your typical blog reader, hmmmm? ;-)

Hope my copy gets here in time, too! I ordered from Amazon (I know, shame, delivery/shipping gas being burned and I'm not even carbon-offsetting it, but they had it in paperback! And for cheap!).
Should we read up until a certain page number for the first set of discussion questions or just read as much as we can?

vanessa - the first set of questions will cover the first section ("Corn"). It's about 120 pages or so, but you'll have the whole month of May to add to the discussion.

I just got my book today and it looks like a pretty quick read. Although I'll be paying more attention than usual to come up with some questions :)

I am so excited that there is a blog on Omnivore's Dilemna. I read it last year and haven't stopped talking to my friends and my students about the book. I teach a social justice class in a Catholic High School in Idaho and have encouraged my students to read both Fast Food Nation and Omnivore's Dilemna. Omnivore has been one of the most insightful books I have ever read. If you haven't gone to the blog I encourage everyone to check out that blog daily. Look forward to the discussion come June. chuck
