Blog Update!
For those of you not following me on Facebook, as of the Summer of 2019 I've moved to Central WA, to a tiny mountain town of less than 1,000 people.

I will be covering my exploits here in the Cascades, as I try to further reduce my impact on the environment. With the same attitude, just at a higher altitude!

Grow your own spuds

FingerlingsI've posted about growing taters before, but I wanted to bring your attention to an article in Mother Earth News about growing your own potatoes. It goes into different details than I did. Please check it out if you have any sense in you:

How and When to Plant Potatoes

Potatoes are the easiest damn things to grow and I bet you won't be able to eat all of them before they start sprouting and trying to climb out of your basement all by themselves.

If you want to read more about growing potatoes in containers, check out my previous posts.

Thanks! More gardening tips for those of us without a scrap of sense, please! We will definitely add this to our kid-friendly, easy for our 1/2 community garden plot short list. If you've grown edible flowers, I am exploring this and am *all ears* if you've got tips for that.

Weather has been keeping me from setting up my little bed to start planting, but hopefully this weekend I can get it up and get some stuff planted. I've never even thought of growing potatoes before, but it looks so easy I'll have to try it! Thanks.

Thanks. This year, for the first time, I'm experimenting with growing everything I can think of. Those sprouted spuds on the basement steps are going in the ground tomorrow.

Keep the ideas coming!
