Blog Update!
For those of you not following me on Facebook, as of the Summer of 2019 I've moved to Central WA, to a tiny mountain town of less than 1,000 people.

I will be covering my exploits here in the Cascades, as I try to further reduce my impact on the environment. With the same attitude, just at a higher altitude!

Omnivore's Dilemma book club poll

I'm getting the sneaking suspicion that not everyone is done readin' the first section of Omnivore's Dilemma. I know it's hard to squeeze in and, frankly, with Low Impact Week commencing this week, I'm not sure I'll have the whole next section read (including questions and my answers) by Tuesday, June 5th.

So my question for you is:

I thought I was going to have to wait to join this conversation till August, when the book comes out in paperback. But hooray, my number just came up last night at the public library, where I've had a hold on the book and have been waiting for 37 people to read the book ahead of me. I'll catch up on section 1 quickly this weekend and embark on section 2 soon thereafter. BTW, being a resident of Iowa these days (though blessedly ensconced in California this year) I can vouch for all Pollan says about the monoculture landscape out there and the slow but steady disappearance of lifeblood in the small towns. I try my best not to be a Corn Person, but it's hard to fight.
