Blog Update!
For those of you not following me on Facebook, as of the Summer of 2019 I've moved to Central WA, to a tiny mountain town of less than 1,000 people.

I will be covering my exploits here in the Cascades, as I try to further reduce my impact on the environment. With the same attitude, just at a higher altitude!

Great timing for the PB recipe, thanks! I just learned that our town's elevator is selling peanuts so I'm hoping to get a deal on a big bag and try this at home. I couldn't find good instructions yesterday when I searched so this is very helpful.

Thanks for the peanut butter info. I have been meaning to do this for... a long time now!

Question: In trying to prioritize budget-wise, I was wondering if you know about the relative importance of choosing organic peanuts? I seem to remember hearing that peanuts are often crop-rotated with cotton, one of the most sprayed crops- do you know anything more about that? I need to stretch my food dollars, and I live in a state that produces lots of peanuts, so would like to know what to consider to make an informed decision.

Thanks for the primer on homemade peanut butter. I just may try this since I have recently rediscovered the fun of peanut butter, and I'm a bit of a control freak when it comes to food. So now I know what to do if I can source some organic peanuts. Thanks!

I made a batch of yogurt over the weekend that didn't get quite as thick as I would have liked so we are going to use it for the yogurt cheese recipe. Thanks!

Oh I love the sour cream! I haven't bought sour cream for years because I was trying to avoid the plastic. This is even better than store bought sour cream. Why oh why didn't I go look for a recipe before this?
