Blog Update!
For those of you not following me on Facebook, as of the Summer of 2019 I've moved to Central WA, to a tiny mountain town of less than 1,000 people.

I will be covering my exploits here in the Cascades, as I try to further reduce my impact on the environment. With the same attitude, just at a higher altitude!

Thursday giveaway

And the blog anniversary fun continues! For those who missed yesterday's post, I'm celebrating the one year anniversary of writing this blog. You can still enter the giveaway for yesterday, where I am giving away the fabulous Soyabella Soy and Nutmilk maker (you have until Friday). To enter, just leave your name in yesterday's post.

RoadrunnerToday, I'm giving away the Road Runner super magical low-flow showerhead by Evolve (retail $38.95). You can read my review here.

Now, I may have complained about its prickly nature, but I've been told by the company that it's possible that my water pressure is too high. Irregardless, my friends, I'm sticking to my cheapo low-flow showerknobule and passing the bounty onto one lucky reader.

Again, to participate in the giveaway, just enter your name in the comments for this post to be entered in a random drawing. The drawing ends Friday 6:00 p.m. PST. I'll announce the winner on Sunday.

Friday's giveaway: Books!

This sounds perfect for my Mom. She LOVES those masochistic shower heads.

Oh, and Congratulations on the One Year Mark! I guess this would be a perfect time to tell you how much I appreciate all the work you do on your blog. I've learned a ton from you and, while I'm not "using cloth" yet, you've made me realize I wouldn't be a weirdo if I did.

Or, at least... I'd be a weirdo in good company. ;-)

Thank you Crunchy!

I can always use a new shower head ~ and I'm one that never thinks there's enough water pressure. *Congratulations* on your anniversary ~ and *Thanks* for the giveaway!

I'm a maniacal composter, re-user, recycler, non-clutterer, etc. etc. person...but my guilty pleasure, I have to say, is long hot showers. Must stop this bad habit!

Congratulations on your anniversary. I just found your blog and like what I've read so far and a new showerhead would be great.

Lower my heat -- check
Diva Cup -- check
shorter showers -- can't do it

I do my best at shorter showers, but I have to admit that I don't do very well (it's the hair! So much hair!), so I compensate by showering under a trickle. And my husband isn't even willing to consider turning down the pressure.

Interesting...I think that it is not too costly, and it is efficient.

I've been reading your blog for a couple of weeks, and I feel really bad that the first time I'm leaving a comment is to be entered in a drawing. I'm really sorry, and I'll try to do better in the future. Mea culpa.

I was thinking about your blog post on the shower head this morning while in the shower, and then I saw the giveaway, and I had to enter :-)

Our shower head is low flow, but super old. I bet this one is even lower flow.

I'd love the prickly showerhead!

Um, please do not enter me in this give-away. I'm now working on getting the image of a roadrunner with a shower head stuck up its butt outta my head.

Sounds awesome! Kimberly :)

Me, me, me! I'd love to have my own shower head (as a renter I've never bought one)...

I just spent the whole day yesterday with my eyes crossed, looking at approximately 500 zillion showerheads...I came away empty handed and overwhelmed. So I really hope I win so I don't have to go back and figure it out!! :)

Thanks for all the fun prizes, C-squared!!
I readily admit I love high water pressure. It takes FOREVER to get the shampoo out with the trickle that comes out of my current showerhead. I think yours might actually help me take shorter showers! :)

Oh my goodness! That sounds like lots of fun. Please count me in! Congrats on turning one. I really enjoy your blog, especially with my morning coffee. I love it when education and smart-ass wit team up to raise planetary awareness! You are to blame for me cutting an ugly $5 pair of pants into toilet paper and trading in my tampons for a diva cup. If that doesn't give one warm fuzzies, I don't know would. I wish I was even one tenth that inspirational :)

The soymilk contraption would be wasted on me but I've got to at least try my hand at getting the cool showerhead.

Congrats on your anniversary!

She-Ra said...

I like water pressure and my husband likes to leave the water running for approximately 3 hours every morning to warm up the shower. Sign me up for the drawing!

Thanks.

Jason C said...

I actually just got this showerhead and installed it last night replacing the one you are sticking with.

It is still under debate as to which direction we're going. My water pressure isn't as insane as yours.

The wife needs to try it a couple more times to see how it rinses her hair.

The verdict is still out.

This might be the solution to our low pressure - and to our non-environmentally friendly current shower head!

Thanks for the great blog! I have really enjoyed it!

Once again, how nice of you to do this!

Ooh me! Me! I want a new showerhead that feels like acupuncture!

(But CC... "irregardless"? For shame!)

Anonymous said...

I'm dying to try one of these, but I haven't been able to decide on a model or brand... Maybe you'll make my decision easier. ;)

Any water pressure is better than the trickle I have now.

Perhaps this showerhead would get my teenage daughters out of the shower faster!
