Is it TEOTWAWKI Time yet again? Between the conflict in eastern Europe, bird flu, A.I. killing off humans, riots and our own conflict with Iran, it certainly seems like everyone is on edge these days.

Headline from Newsweek today:
"Around the world, governments are increasingly advising their citizens to have provisions in the case of an emergency."
Depending on the country, they're recommending anything from 3 days to 3 weeks worth of supplies and that covers everything from food, water and basic supplies to electricity. Because I'm getting inundated with stories about this, I figured I should take stock of what we have going on here in the mountains.
I usually have a lot of supplies on hand because we get so much snow during the winter that I oftentimes don't want to head out for supplies. I've been getting Azure Standard deliveries every month for over a year now and have converted my bakery chest refrigerator to a freezer (I bought one specifically for this purpose). So, it's full of at least 3 or 4 weeks of meat. And I have quite a bit of bulk dry goods from Azure as well.
Do I have a backup-generator? No, But if the electricity craps out on me, I can store refrigerated items and frozen foods (at least temporarily) in our snowbank. But, I should look into one this year if I'm planning on sticking around and it's worth the investment. Of course, my current snowbank strategy definitely doesn't work during the summer!
I have a lot of dried goods stored, mainly in the form of flour, rice, oats, beans and canned meat and vegetables. I can't say I did any canning this last summer, although we did grow quite a bit, but we ended up eating most of it. I've found we just don't tend to eat the canned items, except for a few things. I suppose during an emergency situation we might change our minds. As for a secondary cooking source, I have propane that I can make use of either with our grill with side heater for boiling, or I can deploy my pizza oven for making all sorts of things (I have a LOT of flour on hand). But our main source of cooking is from electricity.
Our backup heat is a propane stove and I just called to have it topped off. Unfortunately, the stove top doesn't get quite hot enough to cook on but I may be able to come up with some sort of contraption to ameliorate that issue. I do need to make sure our oil lamps are still functioning and that we have enough candles and chargeable batteries (and a solar charger would be handy).
I have a lot of emergency medical supplies that I collected during Covid times that I need to go through and update to make sure we have enough supplies on hand there. I definitely need more supplies to sterilize things.
As for water, I do have one method for purifying water in an emergency, but it's more useful for a camping situation than for household water supplies, but I'm getting something soon to help with that issue (more on that soon).
Are you doing any preparation? What do you feel like you're missing? What am I overlooking?
