NW blogger meetup

Melinda (from One Green Generation née Elements in Time) and I have been talking about putting together some sort of get-together to, well, get together all the bloggers and interested readers from the Seattle area and beyond.

We are still at the pre-planning stages and wanted to get an idea of what, if any, interest there would be in getting all us peeps together for a meet n' greet.

So, both of us are posting today to get a head count and some ideas of the whats and wheres. Should this just be a social event or should there be an agenda? Indoors, outdoors, local food, suggestions, aversions?

We were thinking of doing this August 24th, but are flexible on that date.

So, what think ye?

If there are enough people interested I'll be hosting another poll to determine what kind of venue to have it.

  4. Any chance for BEFORE the 24th? Husband will just be returning from 5 weeks away and I know I won't be able to drag myself 6 or so hours away.

  7. I'll bring something decadent and local. Perhaps an carmel peach cornmel cake or blueberry claflouti.

  8. Yes, please. Awesome idea!
It would likely be me and my man, so count my "Tell me the time..." vote as two.

  9. Count me in! August 24th is perfect for me. I'm car-less so, my suggestion is to pick a location that's easy to get to by public transportation and/or provide some way for people interested in carpooling to get in contact.

  17. I live pretty close to you, just a couple hours north across the border. I would be VERY interested in such a meetup. Please not the weekend of Aug 24, however, because there is a wicked cool music festival on the sunshine coast that weekend and we'll be there.

I've been looking for an excuse to take a day trip by myself, and this would be just the thing!

  18. Meet Crunchy in person! GASP! And meet other bloggers in person!? That is like pulling aside the curtain.
Which I'm all for! You know I'm just down the road in the big ol' city of Puyallup so I'm in!! Just send me the details and I'll come one in.
Maybe I could take the Sounder up...hmmmmm

  19. I agree with Michelle - pick somewhere easily accessible by public transportation - maybe the Olympic Sculpture Park or even a local beach. If there is to be food, I like the bring something local idea (and your own plate/fork!).

  20. A meetup would be fun, but we wouldn't be able to make it if it is on the 24th. We're in Utah visiting family until the 27th.

  21. I would very much consider it! I'm a homeschool, simple living, children's book blogger but I love reading the "green" blogs. I live in the Seattle area. :)
