In the area where I live we have a grocery store chain that buys its produce/dairy/bread, etc from local producers. I wish this was a more normal practice because, lets face if, far more people are going to buy local if they can do it at their grocery store than if they have to join an expensive CSA or make a special trip to Kristenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12992748604829749148noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1542806651392353413.post-52083385450895473552011-04-14T11:40:14.823-07:002011-04-14T11:40:14.823-07:00We just joined a CSA for the first time this year....We just joined a CSA for the first time this year. I'm very excited to see how it goes.

Supporting local farms is one way to help. But, really, we need to lobby the government in its rule making. We should not allow companies to patent genes. We have to speak with our wallets here, but also wiht our votes.Carmenhttp://cre8andrecre8.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1542806651392353413.post-18695916392825303382011-04-14T08:05:48.956-07:002011-04-14T08:05:48.956-07:00This film started a revolution in our home. We were already on the way, but this was our kick in the pants. The global ramifications of our nations' actions are made very clear--it's not just our population that's suffering for the profit of a few companies. We have partnered our first year and pledged in a local CSA this year. Can't wait for harvest and to meet other folks who twitch at the mentioning of GM foods. Just wrong. We also partner with a local meet grass fed farmer. So wonderful that we have Rebeccahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04020209490756231899noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1542806651392353413.post-45308180901663943122011-04-13T12:14:52.997-07:002011-04-13T12:14:52.997-07:00I know that organic food is supposed to be free of...I know that organic food is supposed to be free of GMOs but I always wonder... how do they prevent cross-contamination? I mean, really, it's not like we can isolate our food from the outside world. I wonder if a suspicion of organic corn and soybeans is well-founded, or if it's just my paranoia. ;)Lizzy Hanleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09187276671645969502noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1542806651392353413.post-14920027436936784832011-04-13T07:34:42.474-07:002011-04-13T07:34:42.474-07:00Sharon,
