I may start to do more of this as I become more aware of and concerned about plastic. Some fruits and veg can be spread out on a baking tray until frozen and then packed up in containers of any kind. With liquids it's much more critical to remember to leave a gap for freezing expansion when using glass as opposed to plastic.
