I think bake items are popular because they are good food porn- lets face it. I think it looks great! The picture looks totally appealing. And it sounds like a delicious way to clean out your fridge.

That said, I really didn't intend to accuse anyone per se. I was trying to walk a really fine line, and I guess I failed. So I'm sorry if you or anyone else felt attacked. I probably should just keep my damn mouth shut from now on. ;)

I just left a LONG comment over on Ruchi's post. I won't rewrite the whole thing here...

But in summary, I bake pie because it makes me think of my grandmothers and great-grandmothers, and it's the memories and process that I love best. It's my blog and I'll write what I want... and if people don't like it then they don't have to read it. I don't write for them, I write it because I enjoy it. Also- I don't give a damn about what other people think about what I eat, I think our society spends far too much time worried about what other people eat than about what they themselves eat, which is why we've got the problems we do.

And I was just thinking I've got to post my cucumber salad recipe, so perhaps I'll join this carnival afterall.
