I suggest folding it in half to insert it, you'll be able to see once you get it. Once you get the hang of getting it in it is the most amazing thing ever. It does have a learning curve, but I would NEVER go back to the 'pons! I agree with "trim the stem" and if I can be so indelicate...make sure the thing is all the way open before you are ready to go...cuts down on the leakage factor.
