Changing the world - one vote at a time

A few weeks ago I mentioned that the Huffington Post was running a contest to send a citizen ambassador to Copenhagen for the UN Copenhagen Climate Conference. I know the idea of entering had been bandied about by several of us in the green blogosphere, but I don't know too many in the community that stepped up to the plate.

Well, in the last few weeks the women of the Green Moms Carnival, which is made up of such green luminaries as Arduous, Fake Plastic Fish, The Smart Mama, Organic Mania, The Green Parent and a whole host of others, came up with a brilliant idea. The idea was to nominate one of our own for the task and it was decided that Diane MacEachern, author of Big, Green Purse, would be great for the job.

Since then, Diane has graciously accepted duties as our nominee and made a video and has been soliciting votes and endorsements from far and wide. She's received posts and endorsements from the Sierra Club, Center for a New American Dream, The Daily Green and a veritable crapload of green blogs.

"Diane MacEachern is an eco mom, small business entrepreneur and best-selling author. She helps people go green at www.biggreenpurse.com and blogs with the Green Moms Carnival @greenmoms. The home she helped build for her family over 20 years ago uses over 70% less energy than other homes in her neighborhood. She wants to go to Copenhagen to focus attention on the impacts climate change has on people, especially our health."

Please vote for Diane by clicking here and doing the following.

To vote for Diane:

1) Please visit this link
2) You will need to login to the Huffington Post web site or create a login. You can also login using your Twitter or Facebook account. (Please note, I had a bit of trouble with this so be patient)
3) Please rate Diane's entry with 10 stars.

Now, Diane may not have the flashiest video or a big production budget, but she has the background and the substance to represent you at Copenhagen. Voting ends Friday, December 4th, at midnight EST. So, get cracking!
